Pasco-Hernando State College is committed to providing equal access and opportunities to all students. In keeping with this commitment, the College strives to achieve accessible and inclusive education environments to all learners. Ensuring accessibility is an on-going process and a shared responsibility of our community of administrators, faculty, and staff. Resources to support faculty in creating accessible learning materials and courses can be found in the letter from Dr. Melissa Harts, Vice President of Technology and Distance Education.
In an effort to promote and create awareness about accessibility, the college organized the Universal Learning Initiative. The goals of the initiative are to provide:
- Information on accessibility standards and universal design principles.
- Insight into issues facing higher education and our college today.
- Opportunity to evaluate and update model courses.
- Resources, training and support to create accessible course content and digital materials.
